HTC tenders apology over delayed Android 8.0 Oreo roll out in Europe

HTC tenders apology over delayed Android 8.0 Oreo roll out in Europe

HTC started rolling out Android Oreo update to the HTC U11 sometimes last year. While users of the U11 in the US, Taiwan, and other parts of the World received the update as far back as November 2017, users in the Europe Axis were however not so lucky to get the much-needed update.

The company in its resolve to calm the nerves of users in that axis has through its official HTC UK Twitter account expressed regret over the delayed Android Oreo rolls out to users of the U11 in the European region which according to it is due to some “complexities”.

Worst still, the company in its apology tweet, however, did not state in clear terms when to expect the update, instead, the company sought for more time and promised to get back to users as early as possible.

Announced back in 2017, the HTC U11 is a competitively priced device with an impressive spec list, unique design, innovation in the form of squeezable sides and a great camera, and since launch, it has since got two successors in the form of the HTC U11 plus and the U11 life.
