Today, MIUI officially released the official Android 9 Pie/Oreo itinerary for its devices. This schedule is for Q4 2018 and the chosen models will receive at least the beta of Andriod Pie or Oreo by December 2018. The list below shows the Xiaomi devices to get either Android 9 Pie or Android Oreo in Q4 2018
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi 8 EE already has the Android 9 Pie update. Most of the Xiaomi Mi 8 series will get Android 9 Pie. However, phones like Xiaomi Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Xiaomi Mi 5X, and others will get Android Oreo.
In addition, Xiaomi made it clear that some models will not get an update. Those that got updates recently or very old models which have been updated at least twice will not get an update. Nevertheless, due to some special scenarios (perhaps a serious bug), these smartphones may receive a security patch. Xiaomi did not specifically mention the devices that will not get an update.
