iOS 16 users suffer with multiple bugs - Apple pretends not to know

Two weeks after the full-fledged iOS 16 release, users are still suffering from bugs. Apple started a trend with its past iOS 15 release, and it's not a good one. The last update was one of the buggiest in the company's recent story, and unfortunately, things didn't get better with iOS 16.

Another problematic iOS release

The iOS 15 release was marked by multiple bugs and the lack of many announced features. Apple had to roll out multiple patches to address the issues and deploy some of the features that were announced at WWDC 2021. With iOS 16, things are slightly different. The update brought the new customizable Lock Screen, and new features for Messages and Maps. These features were announced at WWDC 2022 and thankfully are here in the final update. However, just like iOS 15, the public release of iOS 16 comes with annoying issues.

According to the reports, the iOS 16 most dreadful bugs include performance issues and huge battery drain. As per MacRumors, more and more users are reporting bugs on a daily basis. It's common to see bugs appearing with every final iOS release. These bugs usually appear once the public gets access to the software. However, things are worse with iOS 16.

Apple rolled out iOS 16.0.1 and iOS 16.0.2, but the bugs are still around

The initial iOS 16 was iOS 16.0 for all iPhone models in the eligibility list. However, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro got a day-one iOS 16.0.1 update. Apparently, this update addresses issues for the newer models. They also came with some software issues, such as the shaking camera. To fix that particular issue, Apple rolled out iOS 16.0.2. It also fixes the copy and past prompt and other things. Unfortunately, these patches are not enough to fix several bugs. Hence, users are continuously reporting bugs.

Apparently, some of the worst bugs include slow on unresponsive Spotlight search. Moreover, there is an excessive and abnormal battery drain. Some iPhone models are known for their mediocre battery life. Just imagine when the system tries to drain your battery faster. Annoying right? However, this isn't the only bug. There are also CarPlay issues on iPhone 14 Pro and older iPhone models. Furthermore, there is a display flickering issue in dark spots under low brightness.

As per the report, there is no sign of an iOS 16.0.3 update in the pipeline. Meanwhile, reports suggest the arrival of iOS 16.1 in the next month. The company is testing it with developers and public beta testers. However, it won't appear before October. So, we can only assume users will have until this release.

Unfortunately, Apple is not acknowledging the issues in the right way. The company recommends users restart their iPhones (seriously?), and in some cases, do a complete restore. However, we all know that these issues are most-likely OS-related. We agree that a complete factory reset can fix something or two. However, simply restarting your iPhone is not ideal.

Apple could have delayed the update to October

Worth noting that besides the bigger iOS 16.1 update patch, we'll also see macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16.1 in October. The company decided to delay these OS updates to October since it needed more time to work on them. Apparently, they also needed more time to work on iOS 16. After all, the bugs are screaming this. We assume that Apple was not happy with the idea of launching newer iPhones without a new iOS release.

The last Far Out event didn't bring any new iPad or new Mac. Instead, we had the release of the iPhone 14 series and the new Apple Watches. Shortly after the event: the company unveiled the new iOS and watchOS 9. Apparently, the lack of a new iPad or new Macs in September, gave the software team a green light to delay the update.
