Huawei Nova 4 Has The Industry's Smallest Camera Hole On Screen

Today, as scheduled, Huawei held a new product launch conference in Changsha, and officially launched the new smartphone, namely Huawei Nova 4. Honestly, we knew everything about this handset long before its official release. So this even just confirmed all the previous leaks and rumors. But there were some features we didn't know about.

The Huawei Nova 4 is equipped with a 6.4-inch screen with a resolution of 2310×1080. The display accounts for 86.3% of the front panel. It is about 3% higher than the notch full-screen.

At the same time, the Huawei Nova 4 achieves the industry's smallest screen opening with a diameter of only 4.5 mm, while Samsung's recently introduced on-screen camera phone Galaxy A8s reaches 6.5 mm. The center of the opening is separated from the top and left sides of the screen by 5.67mm and 3.89mm, respectively, while the mentioned model shows 6.5mm and 7.5mm.

Huawei says they could achieve this because of a smaller aperture. At the same time, the company emphasizes the challenge of the process limit. From top to bottom, it consists of a glass cover, a liquid crystal panel, a backlight layer, and a front camera. According to Huawei, this camera is also the smallest in the industry, measuring only 3.05mm.

The earpiece, sensors, and indicator light are also specially designed. The earpiece uses a micro-slot design with a width of 0.85mm, hidden at the top edge, where three-color indicator light is also hidden. The distance sensor (proximity light sensor) has a patented ejector design that is hidden at the top of the phone and is visually invisible.

The phone is also packed with a Kirin 970 chip, which is based on a 10nm process node and consists of Cortex A73 × 4 + Cortex A53 × 4 core architecture. The GPU is Mali-G72 MP12. The SoC is also paired with an 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. On the front, it carries a 25MP camera, while the rear camera has a 48MP resolution.
