On October 16th, Chinese phone maker Huawei is going to unveil their next flagship lineup consisting of the Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro, but those won't be the only devices getting launched that day. Alongside the top specc'ed phones we're indeed going to see also two new smartwatches, the Huawei Watch GT Sport and GT Classic; the second is the one we will be checking out today thanks to a leaked image courtesy of Roland Quandt.
Other than a pretty fashionable design, the Huawei Watch GT is also going to pack some of the best hardware we've ever seen on an Android powered watch. Such as a 1.39-inch round OLED display, 4GB of internal storage and a 420mAh capacity battery. Do not let the "low capacity" fool you though. Thanks to the latest chipset designed for wearables produced by Qualcomm - namely called Wear 3100 - the Watch GT is expected to pack, Huawei's device might indeed bring some quite impressive battery life, with rumors suggesting 14 days of autonomy. Albeit we could be talking about standby times, which are of course less battery hungry.
As any other good smartwatch, the Huawei Watch GT is also going to pack a GPS module and an NFC chip, hopefully allowing you to pay with systems such as Google Pay. We'll then find Bluetooth connectivity, a compass, pressure sensor, an accelerometer and we assume they'll be sporting heart rate sensors to monitor sports activities and whatnot.
The Watch GT is expected to come in two variants: Sport and Classic. The Sport model is most likely going to be all black with a 199€ ($230) price tag, meanwhile the Classic will have a silver case with a brown leather band and cost 229€ ($265).
