Infinix Note 12i 2022 arrives with Helio G85 SoC
Infinix has been launching a plethora of smartphones in recent months. For instance, the company unveiled the Infinix Zero 20 and is preparing a new Zero Ultra for October with a 200 MP camera. The company also introduced a new Infinix Note 12 (2023) and now is revealing the Infinix Note 12i 2022. It's yet another "yearly-labeled" smartphone.
The Infinix Note 12i arrives as a version of the Note 12i, which curiously, is also a 2022 smartphone. The original phone came in May this year. Let's see if the new 2022 version has enough specs to justify the upgrade.
Infinix Note 12i 2022 specifications and features
The Infinix Note 12i packs a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen. It has a Full HD+ resolution with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Unfortunately, the company didn't mention the refresh rate. Therefore, we assume it has just a 60 Hz refresh rate.
The device carries Android 12 OS with XOS 10.6. The Infinix Note 12i 2022 carries the MediaTek Helio G85 under the hood. The phone packs 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. Storage-wise it's 64 GB or 128 GB, respectively. The phone also has a slot for further memory expansion via a micro SD card slot.
The Infinix Note 12i draws power from a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. For heat dissipation, the device has a 6-layer graphene cooling system. But honestly, the Helio G85 is not known for its performance. So, an advanced cooling system here is quite unnecessary.
In terms of optics, the Infinix Note 12i 2022 is said to bring a triple-camera setup. However, only the main camera is specified with a 50 MP shooter. There is also a depth sensor and an AI lens, both are unspecified sensors. The phone's software provides portrait mode, night scene mode, and 240 fps slow-motion video shooting.
For security, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device also has dual speakers with DTS support. Other features include dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Pricing and Availability
The Infinix Note 12i 2022 costs IDR 2,229,000 which packs $151 in Indonesia. The device launches in Metaverse Blue, Force Black, and Alpine White. It will also hit other Asian markets.
