iQOO Neo 5 Lite, An Affordable Mid-Ranger Officially Uncovered

The original iQOO Neo 5 was announced in March this year. This series is going to host other members soon. Say, the iQOO Neo 5 Vitality Edition is on the way. But it turns out that apart from the mentioned models, there is another smartphone. The iQOO Neo 5 Lite was announced today, coming at an affordable price tag.

Like the original iQOO Neo 5, the Lite version also features a Snapdragon 870 SoC. The phone’s UI is based on Android 11 and it also can boast of a 16MP selfie shooter. However, these are the only things in common with the original model.

Main Changes In Comparison To The Original Model

The iQOO Neo 5 Lite sports a 6.57-inch FullHD+ 144Hz LCD instead of the larger and AMOLED panel on the regular Neo5. The latter also has a 120Hz refresh rate support. And as we are dealing with an LCD display, that’s quite logical to see an in-screen fingerprint scanner replaced with the side-mounted fingerprint reader.

Another difference between the two is in the battery. The iQOO Neo 5 is packed with a 4,400mAh battery that also supports 66W fast charging. As for our protagonist, it comes with a larger 4,500mAh cell but the charging power has been reduced to 44W. Of course, that’s still quite fast. Say, when using a corresponding charger, the phone will charge to 70% in 30 minutes only.

The iQOO Neo5 Lite also comes with a triple-camera module like the vanilla Neo 5. But the sensors differ a lot. Say, the iQOO Neo 5 Lite retains the 48MP primary camera but it replaces the 13MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth units with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro modules, respectively.

In other aspects, the iQOO Neo 5 Lite comes with stereo speakers, Multi-Turbo 5.0, an 11-layer liquid-cooled heat dissipation system, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C, NFC, and 5G support.

Our protagonist offers two color options and three memory configurations - 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB. They cost CNY2,299 ($355), CNY2,499 ($390), and CNY2,699 ($420), respectively. It will be available in China through VIVO's official website. Whether it will be available in other markets still remains mystery.
