There seems to be no stopping Huawei's ascend into the electronics market. Along with the Honor 9 Lite, Huawei launched the Honor AM51 Bluetooth speaker today for 199 Yuan and IP5X rating.
The AM51 is a donut-shaped mini speaker that is available in three different colors, Red, Blue and Gray. The top of the speaker is covered in fabric-like mesh whereas, the bottom is a TPU shell. It has a string that you can use to holster or hang your speaker. It features physical buttons on the bottom part with a microphone, allowing you to make and receive calls. A flap covers the micro USB charging port. The IP5X rating gives the AM51 the added advantage of being water friendly. It measures a modest 100 x 100 x 42mm and weighs in at 190g.
The speaker on this one is a 3.5W driver which connects via Bluetooth 4.1, allowing for a transmission distance of 10m. The 700mAh battery allows for up to 8.5 hours of usage. The Honor AM51 will be available for sale starting 8th of January 2018 for 199 Yuan, approximately $30 on Vmall. This speaker seems like a very good deal considering the cheap price tag and the quality construction along with the added benefit of the IP5X rating.
