Xiaomi Mi7 Scheduled for February 2018 Launch?

If rumors are accurate then the OnePlus 6 won’t be the only phone to launch in early 2018, Xiaomi could also kick off the New Year with the Mi7.

The start of the New Year is a prime launch time for Chinese phone makers. While Christmas is great for shopping in the West, China enjoys the Chinese New Year which is held in January or February (depending on the year) and it’s a hot time for shopping and new products.

With this in mind, it’s not at all surprising that OnePlus could be launching the OP6 around this time, and that Xiaomi is now rumored to release the Xiaomi Mi7 at a similar date too!

Sources in China are stating that there is strong evidence hinting at a November test date for the Xiaomi Mi7 and that Xiaomi is gearing up to release the new phone in February, The same sources claim that Qualcomm is working closely with Xiaomi to optimise the Snapdragon 845 chipset for the phone too!

If the rumors are true then it would make the Xiaomi Mi7 one of the first smartphones on the market to launch with the new Qualcomm chipset and could mean we will see an international release like we did with the Mi5, which the phone launching in China and at MWC in Barcelona.

Xiaomi Mi7 rumors don’t stop there though. The new flagship is believed to come with fast wireless charging and will boast a glass ceramic rear panel too. We also wouldn’t be too shocked to see some sort of bezel-less design and even a face recognition feature thrown into the mix too.
