Moto Z3 Play Leaked in Renders

The Moto Z3 Play is expected to be unveiled at an event in Brazil on June 6. It has leaked in official renders today, throwing a light on the upcoming smartphone.

Successor to the Z2 Play, the Z3 Play will have quite a bit of changes as compared to its predecessor. For starters, there's a full screen display that now sits up front. The fingerprint scanner no more sits on the chin. Instead it has been moved to the right side of the frame where the power button used to sit. The alleged power/extra key has been moved to the left side although its purpose is not yet known. Either it'll be a power or a dedicated Google assistant button. Coming back to the front, two microphones sit on the chin; this is important because an array of microphones would allow for better listening for the AI. The top bezel houses the front camera and the earpiece.

There's a dual camera setup that sits on top of the glass back. Another noticeable feature is the pin structure for the Moto Mods. Judging from it, it seems that the Z3 Play will have backward compatibility with earlier Mods. The phone is made of metal and glass with metal running on the sides. The USB Type-C charging port sits at the bottom and there's no 3.5mm jack. Rumors are rife that the Moto Z3 Play will sport a 6-inch AMOLED display with a 2160 x 1080p resolution. It is expected to sport either the Snapdragon 636 or the 660 coupled with 4GB RAM and 32/64GB of onboard storage. An earlier leak showcased a new Moto Mod, the 5G Mod paired with the Z3 Play. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but it's likely that we'll get to see the Z3 Play and the new Mods in the first two weeks of the coming month.
