AirPods Pro 2 Design Renders Leaked Ahead Of Launch
AirPods Pro 2 design renders have surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of the earbuds' outward appearance ahead of launch. Apple recently brought the AirPods third-generation into the Indian market. The new AirPods received a radical design overhaul, which has been due since the launch of the first-generation model. Now, it bears a striking resemblance to the AirPods Pro. Moreover, the word on the street is that Apple will be unveiling the AirPods Pro second-generation soon.
However, the Cupertino-based tech company has neither denied nor confirmed this speculation. The rumor mill, on the other hand, suggests that Apple's Pro TWS earbuds will go official in the second quarter of the year. Earlier reports suggest that the AirPods Pro 2 will be available in two sizes, and will get rid of the stem. Aside from that, previous rumors claim that the upcoming earbuds will have a more rounded body. However, recently surfaced design renders do not coincide with these speculations.
AirPods Pro 2 Desing Renders
The AirPods Pro 2 will retain the same design seen on the existing model, according to a report from MacRumors. The publication cites an unverified source and includes images of the upcoming earbuds and their charging case.
The leaked design renders seem to adopt the same design featuring a stem, as well as the same silicone ear tips. Regrettably, it seems that Apple has ditched the optical sensor. Furthermore, the report that Apple could have ousted the optical sensors for the sake of skin-detect sensors. To recall, the company removed the optical sensor and used a skin-detect sensor for the AirPods 3.
Other Design Changes & Features
However, the charging case is noticeably different. On each side of the lightning port at the bottom of the charging case, there are speaker holes. According to the source, Apple is planning to introduce a “Find My” feature in the iOS 16. This will enable users to separately play a sound for the charging case. Furthermore, the side edge seems to house a metal loop. It is worth mentioning here that previously launched AirPods did not have these side-mounted metal loops.
Interestingly, rumors making the rounds online suggest that Apple will not retain the stem design for its Pro TWS. However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has suggested that the AirPods Pro will not feature the stem. Considering that Gurman has an excellent record in terms of Apple leaks, Apple's new earbuds could adopt a stem-less new design. Aside from sporting a new design, the Pro model will reportedly come with new motion sensors that offer a myriad of new fitness-centric features.
