AirPods Pro 2 Sporting Refreshed Design, New Chip to Launch in Q4 of 2022 According to Ming-Chi Kuo
Cupertino giant Apple is going to launch the AirPods Pro 2, the first update to the AirPods Pro series in the fourth quarter or Q4 of 2022, at least according to Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo.
In a note first seen by MacRumors, Kuo seems to say that the second-generation AirPods Pro is going to launch in the last quarter or Q4 of 2022.
This comes after previous reports have suggested that the AirPods Pro successor is going to launch in 2022, but bar one rumour that suggested a third-quarter launch, a specific timeframe has not been seen in recent times.
Apple Could Launch AirPods Pro 2nd Generation in Q4 of 2022
Other reports suggest that the AirPods Pro will feature a new design that gets rid of the stem design and instead make use of the in-ear design of the Beats Fit Pro. The AirPods Pro 2 are also likely to feature certain fitness tracking features, courtesy of a built-in sensor that works with Apple's chipset.
In other Apple news, the company recently unveiled the AirPods third-generation with an AirPods Pro like design, minus key features such as ANC or Active Noise Cancellation or proper ear-tips.
The AirPods 3rd generation receives multiple improvements, from design to chipset to battery life, all of which are key to the listening and ease of use when it comes to earbuds and headphones. When it comes to pricing, the AirPods 3 will retail for $179, with the earbuds retailing for Rs 18,500 in India.
Starting with the design, the AirPods third-generation feature a design similar to the Apple AirPods Pro, but the smartphone giant seems to think that this is a new design, we will let them have this one, so yes, the AirPods 3rd generation feature a “new design”.
What Do the Earbuds Have to Offer?
The major difference to the AirPods Pro is the ear tip, since the AirPods 3rd gen miss out on the ear tips that ship with the Pro version of the AirPods.
Coming back to the audio side of things, the AirPods 3rd generation feature support for Dolby Atmos (for Apple Music) and have Spatial Audio, which according to Apple now has dynamic head tracking on the AirPods.
There is a new custom driver for the AirPods 3rd gen, which offers better sound. Apple also mentions that the earbuds will feature Adaptive EQ, which will make listening to music a true joy.
To top it all off, Apple mentions that improved audio quality during calls has been a new addition, with the 3rd gen earbuds also featuring support for MagSafe, Force Sense control and Find My.
