HP was reasonably successful with the low-cost Rockchip powered HP Slate 7. The maker seems to have liked the idea of sourcing low-cost SoC's from China-based fabricators; this time, we have a tablet running on an Allwinner A31.
HP 7 Plus specifications
As the name suggests, the device comes with a 7-inch display. With a resolution of just 1024 x 600 pixels, the device is pretty much one for those on a tight budget. Having said that, we must mention the price at which the device sells -- $100. That is quite a good price to pay for a device which offers quad-core computing along with 1GB of RAM, among other specs.
The Allwinner A31, much like it's MediaTek counterparts, has 4 Cortex A7 cores. These are clocked at a timid 1GHz which should help maximize battery life, which is claimed to be 5.5 hours of actual use. Besides that, there's 8GB of on-board ROM, Android v4.2 Jelly Bean, a 2 mega-pixel rear camera, 0.3 mega-pixel front camera that keep the show running.
