Analysts: Apple To Slash iPhone X Production For Q2 2018

In the first quarter of 2018, multiple analysts predicted widely a varying number of iPhone X produced. While J.P. Morgan and KGI predicted about 20 million units, Cowen and Company estimate that 53 million units were produced in Q1. However, one thing that all these analysts agree on is that Q2 2018 iPhone X production will be slashed by over 50% in either case. Cowen and Company now estimate that only 9 million units of iPhone X will be produced which is less than its initial 13-16 million units.

The report also hints at three new iPhones this year. While two of these devices will be OLED models, one will be an LCD model. The OLED models will use 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch displays and they are expected to jointly sell about 100-120 million units while the LCD model will come with a 6-inch display and it is predicted to sell 75-85 million units.
