Apple Files To Patent Automatic Transparency Mode For AirPods Pro
Apple has filed patent application for a method that automatically activates the AirPods Pro transparency mode. One of TF International's most reputed analysts Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the AirPods Pro 2 True Wireless Stereo earbuds could launch in 2022. Moreover, Kuo predicts that the earbuds could debut sometime around Q3 of 2022. The most notable difference between a regular pair of AirPods and the steeply-priced Pro model is the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation).
ANC ensures that the ambient noise does not blend with the streaming content that a user hears through the earbuds. Moreover, the AirPods Pro is the highest-end true wireless earphones offering from the Cupertino-based tech behemoth. It looks like Apple is gearing up for an imminent launch of the AirPods Pro successor dubbed the AirPods Pro 2. Now, Apple is bringing some Pro features to the standard AirPods models. However, the company will be adding a slew of unique features to set the Pro apart from the non-Pro models.
Apple Patents Automatic Transparency Mode On AirPods Pro
Transparency mode is quite an useful feature. It enables you to hear background noises while listening to your favorite music on the AirPods Pro. For instance, you will be able to hear a car honking and get out of the way while streaming music to your earbuds. Likewise, you will be able to hear a police siren when you're been pulled over. On the downside, transparency mode does not filter background noises. In other words, you will hear all background noises after turning the transparency mode on.
However, if users could select which sounds will pass through via the transparency mode, it could ensure a superior listening experience. As a result, the transparency mode on your AirPods Pro will remain off until a person is trying to talk to you. Also, this person would be selected by you. However, a report by GizmoChina suggests that it will not be restricted to contacts only. Aside from that, it will remain off until an event requires your immediate action. Now, Apple has recently filed a patent application entitled, "Interrupt for noise-cancelling audio devices."
What Else To Expect?
This patent sheds light on a more careful method in terms of allowing outside noise to pass through the AirPods Pro. To recall, Apple filed for the patent back in July, 2021. However, it is still unclear whether the feature will actually be available on the AirPods Pro. Neverhtless, the patent is a major sign that Apple is working on developing the automatic transparency mode feature. Meanwhile, the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds are reportedly set to launch in fall this year. Aside from that, the company could unveil a myriad of other Apple products at the launch.
If rumors making the rounds online prove to be true, the TWS earbuds could adopt a radically overhauled design. Moreover, it will probably boast an impressive array of health-related features.
