Apple Music student subscription increase price in the US, Canada and UK

Apple Music is a subscription-based service with a stipulated price which could increase from time to time. Last month, the company quietly increased the price of its music student plans in some countries. The countries/regions include South Africa, India, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and Israel. Now, Apple is adjusting the price of Apple Music student subscriptions in the US, Canada, and the UK. The current price for Apple Music student subscription users in the United States is $5.99 per month. Previously, the same plan cost $4.99 per month. In the UK, the price of the student subscription increased from £4.99 to £5.99 per month. This means that it has increased the student plan by $1 / £1.

However, the web version of Apple Music archived on June 21 still shows the old prices from the U.S., Canadian and U.K. sites. This suggests that the increase in the price of the student subscriptions is under 48 hours. Of course, the company did not announce the increase and did not give a reason for it. As of now, there is no official statement from Apple regarding this increase.

Apple Music - other plans did not increase the price

In the United States, the cost of an Apple Music personal subscription is $9.99 per month (about 66.93 yuan). At the moment, the price remains the same. In China, the personal subscription is 10 yuan ($1.5) / month). A family subscription for up to six people costs $14.99 a month, while the voice subscription costs $4.99 a month. Eligible students can subscribe to Apple Music at a discounted price through the UNiDAYS program.

All subscriptions have full access to the platform's song catalogue across devices. Of course, this excludes the the voice subscription which only uses Siri on Apple devices. Notably, the Apple TV+ subscription includes the Music student subscription at no extra cost, which the company says is a limited-time offer.
