iPod Touch line gets refreshed after four years

Apple has done something with its iPod line today what it was expected to do with the iPhone SE range since a long time. The Cupertino giant has refreshed its four-year-old iPod today with a better chipset, more storage and some cool looks. The new iPod Touch starts at $199 for the 32GB version and there are two other variants as well. A 128GB for $299 and $399 for 256GB as the company has skipped the 64GB entirely.

The mini music player measures 4.86 inches long and has a Retina multitouch IPS display with a resolution of 1136 by 640 pixels. That's a 4-inch screen with 326ppi density. The processor inside is the A10 Fusion chip and is the cheapest iOS device in Apple's portfolio.

There's an 8MP rear camera on the device with an f/2.4 aperture with HDR support and 1080p videos at 30fps as well as slow-mo at 120fps. The front is a 1.2MP sensor with FaceTime HD capabilities and 720p video recording. And if you're wondering, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack.

"We're making the most affordable iOS device even better with performance that is twice as fast as before, Group FaceTime and augmented reality starting at just $199," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Product Marketing on the occasion of the launch.
