Cupertino giant Apple has started releasing a new watchOS 8.1.1 update, according to MacRumors, with the update coming to the watchOS 8 operating system that was announced back in September.

This watchOS 8.1.1 update comes just a couple of weeks post the launch of watchOS 8.1, which is an update that brought with it support for SharePlay Fitness+ group workouts alongside other features.

The watchOS ‌8.1.1 update can be downloaded for free via the dedicated Apple Watch app for those curious, with users just having to go to their iPhone's settings, navigating to General > Software Update.

Do note that in order to install this new update, your Apple Watch must have at least 50% battery, with the watch on a charger and in range of your iPhone. This is available only for the latest Apple Watch Series 7 watch.

The release notes from Apple reveal that the watchOS 8.1.1 update fixes an issue that is causing Apple Watch Series 7‌ models to not charge as quickly or properly for certain users, with a few ‌Apple Watch Series 7‌ owners noticing slower than usual charging speeds for their devices.

In terms of what the Apple Watch Series 7 has to offer, the new Apple Watch makes use of the S6 chip and houses a larger screen.
