Apple's Rare January Event Rumored to Unveil New Products: Touchscreen MacBook Pro Models?
We might not be too far from seeing Apple launching its first products of 2023. Mark Gurman, MacRumors, and 9to5Mac are all claiming that Apple will have a product announcement. And the reports are all suggesting a debut of brand new Apple MacBook Pro models.
Interestingly, rumors are claiming that the event will take place tomorrow! So, what is all this rush about? Will Apple release the touchscreen MacBook Pro models that we heard about before? Well, we have information in that regard too!
Apple MacBook Pro Models With M2 Pro and M2 Max Chips Are on Their Way
At the time, Gurman claimed that the brand-new systems would feature the same design as the M1 variants. Those devices were launched back in late 2021. However, the new MacBook Pro models will center around the new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.
These new processors are said to boast up to 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores in the Max. However, they would not come with a touchscreen or feature any other major upgrade. So, you would only be looking at the new MacBook Pro models that will feature a performance upgrade.
Well, that doesn’t mean Apple will only offer laptops with new CPUs and GPUs. There are some little but important upgrades under the hood. The new MacBook Pro models might be the first Macs with WiFi 6E.
That said, there have not been any mentions of other products. That means you should not expect Apple to debut the Mac Mini M2 or other revisions of the MacBook lineup in the same time frame.
