The Ministry of Railways and California’s Bay Area Council have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for investing in California's future high-speed rail network.
The MOU was signed by Govonor Schwarzengger as he visited Shanghai this past week where he met with government officials.
The plan is for China to build bullet trains for the new network which will be completed 2020 at a cost of over $40 Billion.
During his visit the former Hollywood star took a ride on one of Shanghai's super fast passanger trains and visited the manufacturing base of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co, where the steel deck segments of the new eastern span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge are being manufactured.
