With all the excitement of other phone launches last week we managed to miss the launch of the new Coolpad Max in China, so here they are better late than never.
As usual, last week was an exciting week for fans of Chinese smartphones, but one device that managed to fly undetected (by us at least) was a new phone from Coolpad.
Specifications look suited to a mid-range device, although pricing is more like a flagship at 2499 Yuan. The metal bodied phone has a rear fingerprint scanner, 13 mega-pixel camera in the top center, and measures only 6.9mm at a weight of 175g.
Gold and silver versions of the phone will be available both with the same 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display and 2.5D curved glass panel. A sim tray in the side of the phone will allow dual SIM cards or you can have a single SIM and micro SD card (internal memory options are 16GB and 32GB).
Coolpad have gone for a Snapdragon 615 chipset with 3GB RAM, a controversial choice considering the issues we’ve had with other SD615 phones in the past. Other details include a 5 mega-pixel front camera and built in 2800mAh battery.
The Coolpad Max is already on sale in China, no word on an international launch at this time.
