MediaTek's MT6735-series of chipsets aren't just cost-efficient, but also very power-efficient. Taking advantage of that, a lot of makers build phones around the SoC with large batteries to have a pronounced effect.

Cubot's H2 is one such phone. The device has a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p display, a MediaTek MT6735A 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board ROM.

Full spec list of the Cubot H2 includes besides the above mentioned a 13 mega-pixel camera on the rear (software interpolated to 16 mega-pixel), 5 mega-pixel camera on the front (software interpolated to 8 mega-pixel) and most importantly, a 5000mAh battery. All in a 9.1mm thick chassis (with overall dimensions of 149.9 x 76.5 x 9.1mm.

Network support on this dual SIM phone includes bands 850/900/1800/1900 on GSM, 900/2100 on WCDMA and B1/B3/B7/B20 on FDD-LTE.

The Cubot H2 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and is expected to go on sale in the coming weeks. Does it stand a chance against other big battery phones that have shown up in the recent past?
