Dubai's software developers are the third-highest paid worldwide

According to a report, workers in the technology sector in Dubai make the third most money in the world. So, according to a report released on Wednesday by the consultancy Mercer, software engineers in Dubai with at least three years of experience make 30% more money than their colleagues in other major technology hubs like London, Amsterdam, and Berlin.

According to the study, technology workers in Silicon Valley and New York make 35% and 22% more money than their colleagues in Dubai.

“Dubai’s status as a global business hub, coupled with its income tax-free environment, world-class infrastructure, safety and high quality of life make the emirate a very attractive market for talent,” Mercer Middle East's workforce mobility chief, Vladimir Vrzhovski, stated. “The demand for tech talent in particular will continue to grow in the UAE, given the nation’s drive to be a global capital of the digital economy.”

According to the Hays 2022 GCC Salary Guide; software development directors in the UAE make an average of Dh52,500 ($14,295) each month.

Also, according to Hays, the average monthly pay for a front-end developer/engineer is Dh25,000; for a back-end developer/engineer it's Dh23,500; for a mobile application developer it's Dh24,00; and for an engineering manager it's Dh45,000, and for a head of software engineering it's Dh55,000.

On the strength of the government's fiscal and monetary initiatives, the employment market in the UAE; the second-largest economy in the Arab world, has recovered from the coronavirus-induced slump.

The increase in company confidence and economic activity is excellent news for job seekers looking for technical positions.

According to recruitment experts, the demand for new recruits in the UAE has been dominated by the technology industry; as a result of businesses accelerating their digital transformation plans and international technology companies growing in the Middle East.

According to a study conducted on Monday by the employment website Bayt.com and the market research firm YouGov; almost 66% of individuals think that technology advancements like digital transformation, automation; and artificial intelligence would change the nature of work in the future.
