A video filmed by XDA Developer xDrShadowx shows the FAEA F2S running Omni Rom based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
FAEA are one of the few Chinese phone makers who are actually attempting to embrace developers and actively work on bringing third party ROMs to their devices. Of course Oppo have been at this too, but FAEA are focussing on Mediatek hardware, which is notoriously difficult to port ROMs too.
A few months ago we got our first look at CyanogenMod running on the FAEA F2S, today it is the turn of Omni Rom which can been seen briefly running on the FAEA F2S in this video.
Omni ROM is based on Android 4.4 KitKat and as far as we know this is the first video of Android KitKat running on a Mediatek MT6589T quad-core processor.
Currently their are no details on where we can download Omni ROM for the FAEA F2S so we can assume some bugs need to be ironed out, but we are truly excited with all the running dev interest in Chinese phones and hope it continues!
The FAEA F2S was the flagship FAEA phone of 2013 and features a 5-inch FHD display, 13 mega-pixel camera, 2GB RAM and 1.5Ghz MT6589T processor.
