FCC includes China Telecom and China Mobile on its "security risk list"

According to the Financial Associated Press, on Friday, March 25, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added China Telecom and China Mobile to a list of "communication equipment and services that pose a threat to U.S. national security". The top three companies on the list are AO Kaspersky Lab, China Mobile, and China Telecom. There are currently eight companies on the list. In addition to the three companies, there are also Huawei, ZTE, Hytera, Hikvision, and Dahua shares. The latter companies were listed in March last year.

According to reports, the FCC law in 2019 is to protect the security of the US communication network. The FCC claims that all the companies on the list pose a serious security threat to the United States. Last June, the FCC voted to pass a ban on the use of equipment from companies on the list on U.S. telecommunications networks. Last October, the U.S. Senate asked the FCC not to issue new equipment licenses to companies already on the list.

FCC issues first sub-THz 6G technology development license

Keysight has received the first Spectrum Horizon Experiment License from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). With this, the company will develop 6G technology in the sub-terahertz (sub-terahertz) band (above 95 GHz). This will also open more grounds for the company.

According to a report by eeNews, Keysight is currently the first company to obtain FCC licenses above 246GHz and 275.5GHz. Roger Nichols, the company's 5G and 6G program director, said: "Innovations in the sub-terahertz band will support use cases such as immersive telepresence, digital twins, and augmented reality. Its usage will combine real and virtual environments Human-Computer Interaction.”...“The FCC license enables Keysight to strengthen its commitment to 6G technology. It also enables innovators to break new ground in next-generation communications systems.”

Keysight is a founding member of the mmWave Coalition. This is also a group of innovative companies that aims to remove regulatory barriers to technology, using frequencies ranging from 95 GHz to 450 GHz. Including this alliance activity, Keysight has been actively involved in advancing U.S. spectrum policy. The company also has multiple FCC licenses.
