No matter how beautiful the sound you've set as an alarm sound, you will hate it. Seriously, you can even set your life's favorite music, and in a matter of time, you'll hate it. The continuous loop of being waked by that alarm sound will make you hate it. So, no matter what sound you will select, it will be annoying in a matter of time. So what is better than setting an annoying sound? Recording your own annoying alarm! Google, in a show of trolling abilities, decided to add that feature to the Google Clock app.
The latest feature addition allows you to quickly record a sound and set it as your alarm. You can record whatever you want, your dog's speech, your friend's scream, anything. It's even cool for some pranks with your friends. If you don't like something chaotic, you can also record a calm sound to wake you slowly.
According to XDA-Developers (via), Google now allows users to set custom audio as an alarm sound with the latest Google Clock app update. Worth noting that this is different from setting custom audios. Previously, one could add a specific file and set it as an alarm. Now, you can record the audio straight from the Clock app.
Unfortunately, there is a small catch in the feature. It seems to be limited to Pixel handsets since it makes use of the Pixel-exclusive recorder app. So you'll only benefit from this Google Clock app update if you're using a Pixel phone. The other alternative is to flash a custom ROM on your phone with the recorder app baked in.
Of course, this feature won't change your life, but it's a cool addition. Hopefully, in a near future, we will see this feature reaching more phones through a future Android update. As for custom Android skins, it will be up to OEMs to make their own take on this feature.
