Google now testing Android 9 Pie Apps on ChromeOS

Google's ChromeOS has always been a very awkward system which is far behind Android. However, it is quite popular in some sectors with good price/performance ratio. Nevertheless, has not been able to enter the mainstream market and compete with Windows. This is basically because of its lack of features and applications. To this end, Google announced at the I/O conference last year that ChromeOS will support Android APPs. The company also said it will extend this feature to all ChromeOS devices.

ChromeOS Android APP compatibility is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. However, it seems that the company will soon bring Android 9 Pie features to ChromeOS. Recently, a Google Pixelbook was seen with Android 9 Pie. This Pixelbook was running on the test version of ChromeOS.

Android 9 Pie brings a new setup page for ChromeOS virtual devices. With the new Google Assistant UI, Google Camera replaces the ChromeOS native camera app. The exact arrival date of the Android 9 Pie ChromeOS is not known. However, ChromeOS users can look forward to the update.
