Google Pixel Watch Renders Surface Online, Hints At A Bezel-Less Design
Alleged Google Pixel Watch renders have surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of the upcoming wearable's awe-inspiring design. Google is reportedly gearing up for an imminent launch of its first-ever smartwatch dubbed, the Google Pixel Watch. In other words, the search engine giant could be on the verge of unveiling its Pixel series of smartwatches soon. To recall, Google acquired the smartwatch brand Fitbit earlier this year for a whopping $2.1 billion.
As mentioned, the tech giant's maiden smartwatch has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time now. Aside from that, the Pixel Watch has been subject to multiple leaks. Back in April 2019, alleged Google Pixel Watch patent images popped up on the internet, revealing its design. Not too long ago, a couple of reliable sources corroborated claims about the Pixel Watch's existence. Now, some official-looking Google Pixel Watch renders have surfaced.
Google Pixel Watch Renders
After acquiring popular fitness tracker manufacturer Fitbit, Google will be reportedly making its foray into the smart wearables segment by launching its first-ever smartwatch. Moreover, the first Google-branded smartwatch will reportedly carry the Pixel Watch moniker. The device will boast exclusive features from Google, coupled with Fitbit-powered fitness tracking. The feature-laden Pixel Watch could compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple-branded smart wearables. Despite being subject to several speculations this past week, there were no images of the upcoming smartwatch until now.
A report from Business Insider suggests that the Pixel watch with the codename "Rohan" is in the works. Moreover, the report claims that the Fitfit team will not be developing the device. Back in April, YouTuber Jon Prosser divulged some key details about the upcoming product. Now, he has shared some Google Pixel Watch renders allegedly made by the search engine giant. The aforesaid renders could represent the design concepts. However, Prosser insists that they are "official marketing images." However, these renders highlight some design inconsistencies.
Design & Price (Expected)
As mentioned, the images show some design inconsistencies, which is a notable sign that these renders should be taken with a grain of salt. In other words, the final product may not adopt the design revealed in these renders. Nevertheless, the leaked renders suggest that the Pixel Watch will come with a circular dial that houses a 2.5D curved display. Furthermore, it is likely to adopt an eye-catching bezel-less design. There's a physical crown on the right side for navigating the menu and controlling different functions. Moreover, Google will reportedly offer the watch strap in 20 color options.
Furthermore, the Google Pixel Watch will probably run the company's proprietary Wear OS operating system. Aside from that, the watch will reportedly pack a custom in-house chipset, which could be the Tensor processor. Earlier reports claim that the Pixel 6 series smartphones will be powered by the same processor. Moreover, the Pixel Watch is likely to support both wired and wireless magnetic charging. The watch will be loaded with fitness-centric features such as SpO2 monitoring, heart rate monitoring, stress, and sleep tracking.
Aside from that, it will come with automatic workout detection capabilities. Also, the watch will have various sports and activity modes. The wearer will be able to manage notifications, control music, make and receive calls using the smartwatch. Moreover, the device can serve as a camera shutter button. For voice control, it will feature the Google Assistant. The Pixel Watch will reportedly set you back around $300 (about INR 22,500).
