Google is rolling out today for Pixel and some Nexus devices the latest Android security update. The November's update comes to solve more than 17 issues that were plaguing users of Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 series. Surprisingly, the update is also rolling out, almost simultaneously for the Essential PH-1.
According to the update notes, it brings some improvements to the picture-in-picture mode, the feature was added back in the days of Android 8.0 Oreo and was kept on Android 9.0 Pie. Now owners of Android smartphones running the latest monthly patch will be able to watch videos while multitasking with another app on the screen. Google also introduced the Assistant logo on the Quick Search Bar. This feature originally came with the Pixel 3 and 3 XL and now is being expanded to more smartphones of the company.
The update is contemplating owners of the Essential PH-1, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. But it's also heading to some old models such as the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Since this is a gradual rollout it may take few minutes or several days to show up for all eligible smartphones. If you're not patient enough you can try to force the update by checking the System Update menu constantly.
