It might seem a little ridiculous to be talking about Kitkat updates while everyone moves on to Lollipop, but that's what owners of the Flagship Gionee Elife E7 can look forward too.
The Gionee Elife E7 is a phone with amazing hardware which has always struggled with poor OS. The phone run's Gionee's own Amigo OS based on Android 4.3, which is a buggy mess, but an update is coming in March that might make everything a lot better.
Gionee have confirmed that a new version of Amigo will be released for their current flagship based on Android 4.4 Kitkat, and hopefully this will run a lot better. We also hope to see Lollipop at some point in the future.
The Gionee Elife E7 recently received a price drop making the phone cost below $200, pretty amazing for a Snapdragon 800 phone with 16 mega-pixel main camera.
