Hisense launches Sero 8, a Rockchip powered tablet for those on a budget

Hisense made some noise with its LTE offerings sometime back, but it quickly died down. The company has now unveiled another budget device, in the form of an 8-inch tablet.

Dubbed Sero 8, the device is powered by the Rockchip RK3188T chipset, largely popular among Chinese tablet makers. The 8-inch screen on the tablet comes with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, which isn't all that bad when you consider the pricing. The tablet is already available for £90, which translates to about $150.

The quad-core Rockchip processor it rocks operates at a frequency of 1.6GHz, and along with 1GB of RAM, comprises of the processing and multitasking department on the device. The Sero 8 also features 16GB of on-board storage, besides a microSD card slot for further expansion.

Dual cameras on the device come with with a resolution of 2 mega-pixel and VGA, rear and front respectively. Besides the regular radio in WiFi and Bluetooth, the device is powered by a 4000mAh battery and runs Android v4.4 KitKat out of the box.

A launch in the States is being speculated to take place soon.
