Xiaomi might have gotten a head start on the low-end, high-quality Android market, but competitors like Hisense and it’s VIDAA box are catching up fast.
The Hisense VIDAA box is a small black plastic pebble of a device which run’s Hisense own VIDAA OS based on Android. The round pod connects to your standard TV via HDMI and converts it to a smart Android TV, with connection to the internet via WIFI.
The guts of the device include a dual-core AML8726 processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, Bluetooth 4.0 and WIFI and can be controlled from the comfort of you sofa via a remote or Android tablet/phone app.
Like the Xiaomi box, the Hisense VIDAA box costs only 299 Yuan, but offers a much more open experience and easy allows uses to download 3rd party apps, something which is much more difficult especially on the 2nd generation Xiaomi box.
