Yesterday, Honor Band 5 was released. While the standard version sells for 189 yuan ($27), the NFC version goes for 219 yuan ($32). The first official sale for the standard version took place yesterday while the NFC version is scheduled to sell on July 29th. According to Honor, the Band 5 standard version swiftly sold out on all platforms. The company did not give the exact time or number of units that were sold.
The appointment for the Honor Band 5 standard and NFC versions has commenced. One of the biggest highlights of this band is the better blood oxygen detection function. This is especially useful for high-intensity mental workers, senior citizens and high-altitude/altitude users.
Honor Band 5 Specs
Honor Band 5 continues the design style of the previous generation. Thus, we are dealing with a fitness tracker (aka sports bracelet), which ensures a smarter sports activity. It sports a 0.95-inch AMOLED illusion screen with a resolution of 240×120 and a pixel density of 282ppi. The display uses a 2.5D curved glass, making the band more scratch-resistant. You can choose any dial from the third-party custom dials. It will provide 14 days of battery life on a single charge.
A major upgrade of the Band 5 is the addition of blood oxygen detection, which is especially useful for high-intensity mental workers, senior citizens, and high-altitude/altitude users. If the blood oxygen data is between 100%-90%, no reason to worry. If it’s between 89%-70%, you need to reduce activities, pay attention to rest, etc. Once it drops below 70%, you should get timely medical attention.
This band supports 24-hour heart rate monitoring and built-in high-precision AI algorithm with a comprehensive accuracy of 97.8%. It also supports Huawei TruSleep 2.0, which is a non-visible heart rate monitoring to avoid nighttime light interference. Of course, we are dealing with a sports bracelet. So it should come with a number of sports modes. Apart from this, it also supports NFC bus payment.
