The flagship iOcean X8 is the next octacore Mediatek phone to release an Android 4.4 Kitkat update, with beta versions of the ROM being made availalbe soon.
iOcean released their iOcean X8 recently which we reviewed not so long ago and found to be a good phone for certain users but we were a little disapointed that it shipped with Android 4.2 rather than Android 4.4. iOcean have taken our and other owners reccomendations on board and are now preparing to release a beta version of Android 4.4 KitKat for the Gorilla Glass bodied smartphone.
Currently iOcean are offering Android 4.4 Kitkat beta to testers on their Chinese forums, however we have asked if we can offer the ROM to a few GizChina readers for testing purposes too. As soon as we hear back from iOcean I will let you know.
