iPadOS 16.1 launch date has been tipped

As usual, Apple announced the newest versions of its operating systems at the WWDC. For iPhones, the company presented iOS 16. Naturally, the iPads will get the iPadOS 16 variants. To those unaware, iPadOS has iOS as a base but also carries a lot of exclusive features for large devices. In recent years, Apple has unveiled iPadOS alongside iOS, usually in September.

However, this year is different. iPadOS 16 has been delayed without a proper release. According to Mark Gurman, iPad users will have to wait just a few more weeks from now.

The reputed Bloomberg analyst, states that the highly-anticipated iPadOS 16.1 will arrive on October 24. Instead of iPadOS 16, the company will launch it as iPadOS 16.1 version for users. Worth noting, that at the time of this writing, Apple is yet to confirm the rollout.

Apple will roll out iPadOS 16.1 in late October, and macOS Ventura may follow suit

According to Mark Gurman, the company will confirm the release date pretty soon. The company will follow the strategy of bringing new products in the same week of its earnings reports. Apple's Q4 2022 earnings reports come on October 27 at 2 PM PT time. So it makes sense for them to bring the new iPadOS 16.1 that week.

The company will also take the opportunity to release new iPads. The rumors talk about a new entry-level iPad. It will land alongside a new powerful iPad Pro model with Apple M2 series chips.

Interestingly, we may also see the rollout of macOS Ventura this month. Apple didn't roll out the new OS version for its operating systems. There are rumors about the arrival of new MacBook models. That may be the perfect opportunity to roll out macOS Ventura. The rumors point to the release of new Apple M2 Pro and Apple M2 Max MacBook Pros.

If Gurman's predictions are correct, we expect the rollout of Release Candidates to happen soon. Therefore, we may see iPadOS 16.1 and macOS 13 getting Release Candidates between October 17 and October 19.

Hopefully, iPadOS will not arrive with a myriad of bugs

Hopefully, these new releases will come with a high level of stability. After all, users have been suffering from buggy iOS 16. In fact, releasing buggy iOS updates is becoming a tradition for Apple. iOS 15 was flooded with bugs. The update needed a couple of incremental updates to become stable. For now, users are waiting for the iOS 16.1 incremental updates. Hopefully, it will address all issues. Interestingly, that may explain why Apple is bringing iPadOS 16.1 instead of a plain 16th version.
