iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro models RAM capacity revealed
The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone 14 Pro models will ship with 6GB of RAM, according to Xcode 14 beta. Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 14 series smartphones at the Far Out event on September 7. The recently launched lineup includes the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, and the iPhone 14 models.
As expected, the iPhones took the center stage at the recently concluded September event. Despite spending a lot of time introducing the iPhone 14 lineup, Apple did not divulge any features like battery capacities, fast charging, and RAM. However, a report by MacRumors has revealed one of the key features of the new iPhone models.

According to MacRumors, the new version of Xcode 14 beta comprises a file with the RAM details. For those unaware, Xcode alludes to Apple’s IDE that comes in handy for developing tvOS, watchOS, iPadOS, iOS, and macOS. According to the file discovered in the latest Xcode beta version, the iPhone 14 series models will come with 6GB of RAM.
To recap, iPhone 13 and 13 Mini offers 4GB of RAM. Likewise, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models come with 6GB of RAM. Interestingly, Apple did not increase the Pro models' capacity. Instead, the company increased the capacity of the vanilla and Plus models. Also, the new iPhone 14 supports eSIM connectivity, which is likely to pose a challenge for most carriers.
Meanwhile, details of the RAM standard are still scarce. However, past leaks suggest that the new models will feature LPDDR5 RAM. Notably, the iPhone 14 Pro Max recently passed through the Geekbench benchmarking website. The device scored 1882 in single-core, and 5290 in multi-core tests. Under the hood, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max pack the latest A16 Bionic chip.
However, the iPhone 14 and the 14 Plus use the older A15 Bionic chip to draw power. Both the latest and the last-gen SoCs have six cores. These include two performance and four efficiency cores. The iPhone 14 series models offer newfangled features like satellite communication, but it lacks some basic features. For instance, the iPhone 14 series phones do not support WiFi 6E standards.
