iPhone 15: Pro-Level Cameras for All Models?

iPhone 15: Pro-Level Cameras for All Models?

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max saw huge upgrades over their predecessors. But the same thing was not true for the regular models. The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus saw only some minor improvements. However, the case might be a little different for the iPhone 15 series.

If you have held off purchasing an iPhone this year and are waiting for the iPhone lineup, you are in for a big treat. According to the latest rumors, Apple might give the regular iPhone 15 models a ‘Pro’ camera upgrade. And unlike the iPhone 14 series, the standard models of the iPhone 15 are said to offer some key improvements.

48 MP Primary Camera for Standard iPhone 15 Models

According to analyst Jeff Pu, the supply chain sources of apple suggests that the non-pro iPhone 15 models could boast a 48 MP primary camera. It is said to be a 3-stacked sensor. And it will likely be the same 48 MP camera that is on the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Now, in case you didn’t know, the primary camera module of the iPhone 14 Pro takes significantly better photos and videos than the 12 MP primary sensor on the non-Pro models. That made the non-Pro iPhone 14 models less worthy of purchase. But the same trend is less likely to continue for the iPhone 15.

However, the iPhone 15 Plus and regular 15 models are unlikely to get a telephoto lens and a LiDAR scanner. Those might still be reserved for high-end models.

Other Rumored Upgrades for the Non-Pro iPhone 15 Models

The camera is not the only upgrade that you will see in the non-Pro iPhone 15 models. Alongside the camera, Pu claims that the iPhone 15 Plus and 15 will come with Apple’s latest A16 Bionic chip and USB-C port.

Those claims align with the recent rumors that suggest that Apple will comply with the EU regulations by ditching the Lightning port in favor of a standard USB-C port.

What About the Pro Models

Rumor has it that the iPhone 15 Pro models will get even better upgrades in the camera department. And the 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) will come with a 12 MP periscope camera.

Ming Chi-Kuo, a renowned Apple analyst, has previously claimed that the new periscope camera will offer greater optical zoom capabilities. It is said to offer a 6x optical zoom option. That is double the existing 3x telephoto camera found on the iPhone 14 models.

The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max/Ultra might also pack the Apple A17 Bionic chip. And in case you missed it, TSMC has hinted that the A17 will offer a massive upgrade over the previous SoCs. According to the hints, the A17 will take performance, efficiency, and battery life to the next level.

Besides, according to rumors, the high-end models of the upcoming lineup will see a massive upgrade on the build. Fans are expecting Apple to integrate a titanium frame instead of the stainless steel frame found in the current iPhone models. That could definitely make the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max/Ultra offer an ultra-high-end feeling.

Furthermore, the high-end models are also expected to come with 8 GB of RAM and a USB-C port. However, both the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro models might come with the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes as the current lineup. And there will be no mini in the upcoming lineup.

Finally, the analyst claimed that Apple plans to launch the iPhone 15 series in stores on September 23. But we expect to get much more exciting news about the series before that. And we will surely keep you updated.
