Lei Jun reckons Xiaomi is on the way to sell 10 million Redmi Note 2 units

Xiaomi boss Lei Jun has gone on record to state that the company's newest shock to the smartphone market, the Redmi Note 2 (review), is on its way to reach sales figures of 10 million units.

The Redmi Note 2 was first launched almost a couple of months back in China. Since then, Xiaomi have stated that the phone wouldn't make its way into India, which has been Xiaomi's second home for the most part since last year, anytime soon.

Jun said that the investment to initially set up the producing facilities was high, but with time, the overall costs of making a Redmi Note 2 will go down. The fact that it does is also what Xiaomi banks upon for its profits.

The Redmi Note 2 was nearly guaranteed to be a hit with the sort of spec it had on offer at the price tag. It comes with a Helio X10 SoC from MediaTek, which has made its way into a lot of phones including some very high end ones from the likes of HTC et al.

The Mi 4c, on the other hand, is another Xiaomi device expected to do well on the market. It is essentially a refreshed Mi 4i, after the latter failed to impress a lot of people with how it fared (and not how it was made).
