Motorola Moto E launched for $129: Poor man's Nexus?

After a very successful Moto G launch, Motorola are following it up with another budget package -- the Motorola Moto E. Although we've seen quite a bit of this phone before, its only today that we're glimpsing the specs sheet in all its glory, officially.

Google, and now Lenovo, both parent companies of Motorola are known for offering products at a highly competitive pricing. Thus it is no surprise that we see about the same Moto G-esque value proposition with the Moto E as well. Priced just $129 in the US, £89 in the UK and 6,999 INR in India, the device demands attention with a dual-core Snapdragon 200 CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage + microSD expansion, a handy 4.3-inch 960 x 540 pixel display coated in Gorilla Glass 3, a 5 mega-pixel camera, a 1980mAh battery and the Android v4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box.

Motorola uses the same 'all day battery' terminology that it used with the Moto G here as well, which should give you an idea of how long the device can go on a single trip to the wall socket. That's not all, the budget phone also comes with customizable shells like other Moto phones from Motorola so you can add a bit of you to your device.

Those in the US can get their hands on the Moto E via the official Motorola website, while folks based in India can head over to Flipkart to order the device.
