MWC: ZTE Grand Memo II LTE Hands-On

ZTE had an interesting showing at the Mobile World Congress, and headlining that was the ZTE Grand Memo II LTE. The 6-inch phablet is really blurring the lines between tablet and phone, and initial impressions seem positive.

Our sister site Gizchina.es' Eduardo Ruiz is on the show floor and he got some hand-on time with the device. But first, the raw specs.

The ZTE Memo II LTE has a 6-inch 1280 x 720 screen. A quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU (although some media outlets are reporting that might be upgraded) 2GBs of RAM, a 3,200mAh battery, a 13 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel front shooter. It comes with 16GB of expandable internal storage. Its also supposed to ship with Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. Of course, as the name implies, it has 4G connectivity.

Ruiz stated that while the device has to be held with one hand, and then the other exclusively for typing, the skinny bezel mitigated the problem significantly, and it was not uncomfortable to hold. You can tell in the video that the device doesn't look out of place in Ruiz's massive paws, but someone with petite hands might have a more difficult time with it.

You can also see Ruiz use his time with the device to wisely confirm the operating system. You can hear "cuatro, cuatro, dos" for 4.4.2, proving that the device is already running Android at this stage of its development.
