The Nokia PureView 9 has seen its fair share of countries from the day of its launch. However, India is not one of them. Nokia raised the curtain off its Penta-camera handset back at MWC 2019 and it is after four months that the device is coming to the country. Despite the official teaser from Nokia Mobile India, there's still no exact date but we should see a launch eventually happen this month.
Previous reports have suggested that the Nokia 9 PureView with its Snapdragon 845 SoC could be priced around the Rs 47,000 mark in India. Co-incidentally, the smartphone also just landed in Thailand a couple of days back with a price tag of THB18,900, which roughly converts to $615. In 2019, that might be a very steep price especially if it's in the price-conscious Indian market.
Clearly, the Nokia 9 PureView's biggest feature is its five-camera setup on the rear. All the five sensors are of 12MP capacity and an f/1.82 aperture. Three of these sensors are monochrome while two are RGB and the front is a 20MP shooter. The handset (the penta-camera) has received mixed reviews during its life span and we're yet to see how the Indian audience, which admires good quality smartphone cameras, react to it.
