OPPO has announced another smartphone for the Indian market in the entry-level to mid-range OPPO Joy 3.

The phone comes with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (the MediaTek MT6582m) and a paltry 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM. OPPO isn't particularly known for its prices, and the Joy 3 certainly doesn't attempt to bring a change there.

Besides that, there's a 4.5-inch with an FWVGA resolution of 854 x 480 pixels to take you back to 2011. Other specifications of the phone include a 5 mega-pixel fixed focus rear camera, another 2 mega-pixel fixed focus front shooter, a 2000mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat overlaid with ColorOS 2.1.

OPPO does provide a really good build on most of its phones, but asking for 7,990 INR / US$126 for a phone with 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM and a 5 mega-pixel fixed focus camera is... asking for trouble.

Buyers have a tonne of different options to choose from, and by the looks of it, the Joy 3 will be overlooked.
