Today, Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo, released the Oppo Reno 2 in China. Recall that this smartphone is already available in India and it comes with two siblings - Reno 2Z and Reno 2F. However, the Reno 2Z and Reno 2F are not available in China for now.
Oppo Reno 2 Display
The Oppo Reno 2 features a 6.5-inch panoramic screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. According to the official introduction, the Reno 2 adopts the latest luminescent materials in the industry, and the colour range covers 100% of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut. The maximum brightness can reach 500nit, the limit peak brightness can reach 700nit, and the display is very visible under strong light. Furthermore, the Reno 2 comes with TUV Rheinland Full Care Display certification. The Full Care Display is currently the highest specification for mobile display systems. It includes the global low-blue and low-frequency flash security certification.
Oppo Reno 2 Hardware & Software
In the core configuration, Oppo Reno 2 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G mobile platform. As of now, we have only 8GB of RAM + 128GB internal storage option. In addition, its light is kept on by a 4000 mAh battery which supports VOOC 3.0 flash charge. On the software end, this device comes with ColorOS 6 UI on top of Android 9 Pie system. It also has Breeno assistant.
Camera
In the camera department, Oppo Reno 2 uses a 48MP main camera + 8MP super wide-angle + 13MP telephoto + 2MP quad rear camera setup. The main camera is a Sony IMX586 sensor which supports OIS. The telephoto, main and wide-angle lenses work together to achieve 5x hybrid optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. Furthermore, it achieves a 5-axis anti-shake effect through HIS hybrid anti-shake technology. It has a 16MP selfie camera with an LED flash all located in its shark-fin shaped pop-up camera module.
Oppo increases the detection frequency of the gyroscope by 2-3 times, making it more sensitive to vibration. In addition, a combination of software algorithms and hardware configuration creates an Ultra Steady Video Super Anti Shake. Whether in extreme situations, you can take good videos that are stable and unambiguous.
Other Features
The Reno 2 also boasts of the Link Boost network acceleration engine. In addition to high-speed rail mode, elevator mode, and SLA polymorphic network acceleration 2.0, it also adds dual Wi-Fi function which can connect two Wi-Fi hotspots of 2.4G and 5G simultaneously. In public places such as high-speed rail stations and shopping malls, the network remains stable and the speed doubles. This smartphone also supports NFC. Oppo Reno 2 also comes with dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
In addition, the Reno 2 comes with an independent NPU artificial intelligence chip. It can intelligently analyze noise under different illuminations. Furthermore, it can accurately complete noise reduction and produce cleaner images.
Oppo Reno 2 Price and Availability
In terms of price, Oppo Reno 2 (8GB+128GB) arrived China for 2,999 yuan ($422). It is available in mist pink, deep-sea luminous black, and ocean heart (blue) colour options. It will be officially available on September 12.
