Patent points to Xiaomi drone controlled by Mi Band!

There has been talk for sometime that Xiaomi might make a move to the drone market sometime this year, now a patent gives us some clue what to expect.

Drones continue to be big business around the world and it's China that is leading the charge. DJI, a Shenzhen based manufacturer of quad-copters and drones, is most notable but there are plenty of other Chinese drone makers (Walkera, Eachine, etc).

With popularity and growth in sales for quad-copters its not surprising that Xiaomi have been rumoured to be working on a similar product. Apparently Xiaomi were close to launching a drone at one point last year but decided against it as it looked too similar to DJI models, but the idea of them producing a drone is still very much alive.

A patent shows how the Xiaomi drone, developed by a team of Chinese quad-copter specialists, could use a future Xiaomi Mi Band to track the user, a technology already used by DJI.

Reports of the Mi Drone, suggest that the device will feature a camera and will be priced at around 699 Yuan. There are even rumours that a limited number of 10,000 of these drones are already in production and could launch with the Xiaomi Mi5.

We've heard wild rumours before, but could the Xiaomi Drone actually be a reality?
