Quad-core MT6589 phones are currently in limbo. Plenty of them have been announced, but not one has gone on sale yet, well unless the unknown manufacturer of this Samsung Galaxy Note 2 clone is telling the truth.
According to reports on Chinese tech sites, this Samsung Galaxy Note 2 clone is being advertised as the first MT6589 quad-core to go on sale, a bold claim, but that's nothing compared to the purported specification.
Online resellers are apparently listing this knock-off as featuring a 5.7-inch AMOLED 1280 x 720 display with Corning Gorilla glass, an 8 mega-pixel rear camera and 5 mega-pixel front, a quad-core 1.2Ghz MT6589 CPU, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and a massive 3600mAh battery!
Of course this is all possible, but we are reluctant to believe the claims as this knock-off is priced at an unbelievable 1699 Yuan ($273)! Perhaps if the screen was a regular IPS model, the front camera was a 2 mega-pixel and the battery was half the size we would be more willing to believe them.
What do you think? Too good to be true or an amazing bargain?
