We all know that benchmarks and real world performance don’t necessarily go hand in hand, but when something manages to raise the bar like the new Rockhip RK3288 people tend to take notice.
Rockchip, a Chinese manufacturer of processors designed for tablet and wearable use, launched its latest SoC in April during the Hong Kong Electronics fair. At the time of launch Rockchip announced that the RK3288 would be a game changer and now Antutu scorers are in we can see they weren’t all talk.
For these Antutu scores which reached over 40,000 points the Rockchip RK3288 was tested in a tablet running Android 4.4 Kitkat, with 2GB RAM and a Mali-T760 GPU. The results are pretty astonishing are well on par with the likes of the Nvidia Tegra K1 and Snapdragon 801 SoC models.
Manufactures including Five and Pipo are already rumoured to be testing tablets running the RK3288, and we can’t wait to see them in stores!
