Sony Xperia Z2 with 5.2" display, 4K video capture now official

Sony outed another shutterbug-centric smartphone, the Xperia Z2, at the MWC earlier today.

The device packs a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 FHD triluminous display, taking the pixel density to 423ppi. It again comes with the Snapdragon 801 processor, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 800 which was seen in its predecessor. The camera sensor remains the same 20.7 mega-pixel Exmor RS we saw on the Xperia Z1, but this time the shooter does 4K video as well, something which the Z1 didn't. Front-facer on the device comes in at 2.2 mega-pixel.

The device gets a nice bump with 3 gigs of RAM to ensure a great multitasking experience, and a 3200mAh battery to power the high-end internals. The Xperia Z2 carries design elements from predecessors and features IP58 certification for its aluminium clad body.

Set to go on sale starting next month, the Xperia Z2 will feature Android v4.4 KitKat out of the box, and will come in Black, White and Purple colour variants.
