Only a few hours back, Xiaomi posted on their Facebook page that one lot of the company's cheapest smartphone, the Redmi was sold out in Singapore in under 10 minutes.
Redmi is none other than the fabled Hongmi which was launched last year to battle the budget uprising which the company faced from fellow Chinese manufacturers. Months after that, Xiaomi announced foray into Singapore market, as a part of their global expansion project.
It is typical of Xiaomi to offer limited number of units during a sale, which often results in them grabbing headlines. This is exactly the case here as well, and is, in a way, routine.
Xiaomi haven't yet announced when the device will be up for sale next, but the company is expected to do so soon, so if you couldn't book yourself a Redmi yet, keep an eye here for the next announcement.
In related news, Xiaomi's 2nd-gen Hongmi just passed through network certification and should be made available soon, in both, MediaTek and Qualcomm versions.
