Windows tablets are a rare sight in China, and even rarer is a Windows tablet worth paying attention to. But Vido might have something up their sleeves with three recently announced tablets running Windows 8.1. The Vido W10 Pro, Vido W11 Pro and Vido W11C.
The Vido W11C is a ¥1999 ($319, €233) tablet running Windows 8.1 with a 1900 x 1200 10.1 inch screen. It has 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and is powered by the Intel Atom Z3735D (quadcore with speeds up to 1.83Ghz). Is also sports a pair of 2 megapixel cameras, support of Huawei's 3G stick, and a massive 8,400mAh battery.
The Vido W10 Pro is the most powerful of the bunch, includes 4GB of RAM, two USB ports and a removable keyboard. It is powered by Intel's Bay Trail quad-core CPU (T Z3770). It also boasts WiFi 802.11ac. It has the same 1900 x 1200 10.1 inch screen (as does the W11 pro) and goes for ¥2699 ($431, €315).
The W11 Pro sits between the two, containing an Intel Bay Trail quad-core CPU like the W10 (only this time it is the T Z3770 model) but drops the RAM to 2GB. Its price couldn't be determined.
There is a lack of good Windows powered tablets, and that problem goes double for the Chinese market. But with these three devices on the horizon, Microsoft's OS might make some headway.
