Waterproof iPhone X with USB Type-C fails woefully in its sale
Over the past few months, there have been some modifications to the iPhone. Most of these modifications attempt to fuse in a USB Type-C to the iPhone X. Well, the sale of the first iPhone X with USB Type-C was a huge success. The first iPhone X with a USB Type-C does not support waterproof, however, it was sold for a whooping $86,001. However, this latest model of the iPhone X with USB Type-C supports waterproof. Surprisingly, its sale was a complete failure as it sold for only $3000. This is significantly lower than the first iPhone X with USB Type-C.
Gernot Jöbstl is responsible for the modding process. Unfortunately, he will not get significant compensation for his work. Nevertheless, he will have enough funds to pay for basic expenditures.
Latest Waterproof iPhone X With USB-C Port managed to get a buyer
It is important to note that fusing the USB Type-C port on the iPhone X is really not easy to achieve. Making this smartphone waterproof is even more difficult. Obviously, the makers wanted to smile to the bank for his effort. Unfortunately, this did not just happen. In fact, this waterproof version did not attract much attention. The listing of this waterproof iPhone X has closed bidding and the final price is $3000. In fact, the information on the listing suggests that there was only one bid. Thus, it appears that the maker almost went home with nothing.
The details of the modded handset are provided below.
“The Usb-C port is used to charge the phone and transfer data between the phone and computer. This modified Usb-C port works unidirectional instead of bidirectional. There are different Usb-C standards. I guarantee functionality only with the supplied cable and charger. The Usb-C to Lightning chip does not support fast charging, so high-powered chargers should not be used.
The phone is IPX7 waterproof like the original iPhone X. This means protection against ingress of water by total submersion for a limited time (1 meter deep for 30 minutes). I do not recommend exposing the phone to these circumstances more often! The water protection is only intended to be able to clean the mobile phone regularly with water.
Please note that this is a prototype and not a verified product. Therefore, I guarantee nothing in terms of functionality and waterproofness! Since this is a private sale, there is no guarantee, warranty or right of return.”
